Hola chulas! Llego el momento to feature another mogul in the making! Today we feature a beautiful chica that actually is from Texas but recently moved to LA and let me tell you this mamacita is hustling! Rubi Rodriguez is owner of éLan Belle a cute online boutique. I met Rubi at one of our Latina Beauty matters events a few months ago, she helped ton that day! Right off the back I knew this girl was here to conquer LA. We where curious to know more about her so we asked a few questions.

What made you want to become an Entrepreneur/Business Owner?

The first thing that came to my head when I read this question was the words my dad would often tell me “be your own boss, don’t ever work for anyone else”. The thrive and thirst to experience this came about when my sister Sofia proposed we start our own business, and here we are now experiencing and learning from this lifestyle.

What is one thing you've sacrificed for success?

Family! I often find myself on my phone or computer trying to learn new things, running our online business, brainstorming on what to do next, posting on social media, replying to people, etc. For any of you who run an online business, you know what I am talking about.

Tell us why you started your business/ profession?

I started my business because I wanted to know how it felt to work for yourself. The opportunity came and I ran with it.

What was your first major win as an Entrepreneur?

Freedom! Freedom and the ability to allow my creativity to run wild lol. Many times we have ideas or think of new ways of doing things, but when working for someone else, we don’t have the freedom of making the changes WE think will work best.

Have you ever dealt with depression? If so, how did you overcome it?

Yes! Of course I have dealt with depression, a few times in my life. The first time I overcame depression was finding God. Knowing that there was someone there that heard me, understood me, never left me alone and most importantly that loved me. His everlasting love gave me the strength, courage and faith to continue on. The second time was my family. To me, my family is my rock, my foundation, because if it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be who I am today.

Who motivates and Inspires You?

My goal in life is to be the best mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend I can be. That is what motivates me to be the best version of myself.

What does Latina Beauty mean to you?

Latina beauty means diversity to me. All Latinas come in different shapes, sizes and colors (and I mean this with the upmost respect to all Latina women). We are all beautiful in our own ways and don’t realize how amazing we are. Some of us, a little more strong minded and feisty than others but that’s ok!! I love being a Latina and I’m so proud of my heritage and culture. I love my piel morena, big brown eyes, dark hair and lonjitas. I’m all about women empowerment and making every women feel beautiful. Somos Chulas , Cabronas y Chingonas!!

What advice do you have for emerging Entrepreneurs?

The advice I can give emerging entrepreneurs is don’t be afraid, to ” Just Do It” (like the Nike slogan). Wether you want to do this part time or full time, allow yourself at least the opportunity to say, I tried. We never know what may come out of at least giving it a try. I have met so many amazing individuals through this journey that have gone with their intuition and are now incredibly successful. This can also be you and I. Thank you all for reading this, I hope to be an example and inspiration to one of you. Much love XOXO!
